National Park El Torcal
CulturalMalaga | January 25, 2009
Millions of years ago these rocks were hidden in the depths of the sea and served as a house fro the shellfish and marine vegetation. Time passed, the climate changes ans allowed the rocks to rise below the sea level. The water and then the winds created singular shapes, surprising and majestic. Today El Torcal is a natural park with its unique ecosystem where more than 700 species of animals and plants can be found. El Torcal is interesting to see in any season of the year: in winter its tops are covered with snow, in spring the orchids are in bloom, in summer it´s a perfect place for a picnic, and in autumn the berries are mellowing.
How to get there: from Antequera Carretera Local MA-9016, km 3′5
